About Me

Welcome!

My name is Kayla. I recently graduated New York University and majored in theater at the Tisch School of the Arts. Since I was little I knew I wanted to sing, dance and act on stage.

More recently though, I gained a new passion for fitness decided I wanted to live a healthier life. I am not interested in losing weight, nor have I ever been, but more importantly I am interested in living a physically active life. Since started this blog I have slowly overcome my fear of cooking and want to help others realize that making your own food can be easy, and of course healthy.

I think everyone can benefit from getting their daily sweat on— even when losing weight is not the focus. For this reason I plan on becoming a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.

In April 2012 I became a licensed Zumba instructor. During the summer I work as a dance specialist at a day camp choreographing dances and teaching zumba classes to children ages 4-13.

While theater will always be my first love, this blog is devoted to all my loves: musical theater, fitness, exercise, attempting to eat healthy,  musical theater, Green Day and flying trapeze.

This blog is about inspiring others to make the little changes to start living a healthier life and my daily life as recent college grad living in Manhattan.

Hi! I’m Sue, and I’m from SlimKicker, a fitness/diet app and website. I found your blog today and it captured my interest!

I’m contacting you b/c we’re about to release a fitness tracker (similar to FitBit) early next year, and are looking for bloggers who would be interested in getting 1 for free to review when it is out (negative or positive).

Would you be interested in doing this? You can email me at: sue (at) slimkicker (com) with ‘Review’ in the email heading if you are.

In case you don’t know, our website SlimKicker basically turns your fitness/diet goals into a fun level-up game. The tracker will work with the website, and allow people to track calories burned and number of steps they walk automatically. The more they exercise, the more points they rack up! That’s basically how it will work.

Anyway, hope to hear back either way…

Such an interesting blog! I’ve enjoyed reading your posts. How exactly did you get involved with the trapeze? That is so cool!

thanks so much for the comment! I first got involved with flying while on vacation at Club Med. A bunch of their resorts have trapeze rigs. I became completely addicted and then decided to start taking classes back home in New York. If you ever get the chance to take a class I highly recommend it!
