meet my new bff NASM

18 Oct

Yesterday was just a test run, today started the real studying fun.

[whoopsie, I was taking a study break on twitter….]

It was like college all over again! In college I did my best studying and essay writing at NYU’s library. I am way too easily distracted at home plus there was noisy construction going on, so going to the nearby LA library was a great idea. Plus it was freaken beautiful and had 3 hours of free parking.

Initially I was going to focus on studying for the AFAA Group Fitness exam since I already scheduled my exam date in December. I soon realized how foolish this was of me to think I would be able to focus on both AFAA and NASM at the same time (what can I say, I got all excited!)

You see the thing is I was offered a personal training position in New York. A position at a gym I highly respect and admire and am honored to be offered a job with. This means I have to become a certified personal trainer…. like ASAP.

and that also means NASM and I will be spending lots of quality time together now!

So far so good during day 1 of studying, I am following the recommended outline but doing multiple days at a time to speed up the process. The nerdy studious side of me is definitely coming out. This is definitely easier than memorizing my shakespeare monologue last year…

Anyone have tips for how to pass the NASM exam?

Where do you do your best studying?

Contact me if you need help. I actually helped writhe nasm performance enhancement specialist. One piece advice I have for you is to really know the postural assessments and the learn the OPT model. I do not follow the OPT model at all but their is still a lot of useful exercise phys stuff that will help you. good luck kofitness2010@gmail.com

thanks for the tips! luckily I’m already a bit familiar with the OPT model so hopefully that part won’t be too bad for me.
If I have any other questions I’ll definitely let you know!
